In 2024, we have thirteen junior teams:

Pioneer juniors is a proud community club with a rich history and culture. Our goal is to promote, foster and grow the game of Rugby Union in Eastern Southland.
We are part of a legacy of an exceptional club who have encouraged and built the love of the game of rugby across many generations, this is something we are very proud of.

HOW DO I REGISTER MY CHILD?Registering to play rugby for Pioneer is easy, just click here to register. Pioneer RFC - Junior Players 2024 All Grades on sporty.co.nz If you need help, you can either attend our Registration Fun Day at the club on the or ask a committee member for assistance on a training night. If you are unsure if your child wants to play rugby and you want to try it, please contact a committee member, and come along. If you decide to play for the club, you will need to register and pay fully before your first game.

ILLNESS / ABSENCESPlease advise your Coach or Manager as early as possible if your child is unable to play any games or attend training. It is important that Coaches have has as much notice as possible to find a replacement player and ensure team numbers.

MATCHESEvery Saturday morning, times and locations varies. You child will be playing at various locations across Eastern Southland Games are generally 10:00a.m. A grade is normally at 11:00am but may alter if its club day. All players are to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to kick off, to warm up and prepare for the game.

TRAININGTraining takes place at Pioneer Rugby grounds on Roberston Street, Gore. A Grade - Tuesday and Thursday – after school Rippa to B Grade – Thursday – after school

UNIFORMSAll shorts, socks and hoodies can be purchased from the club at the beginning of a season, playing shirts are allocated and MUST be returned at the end of a season or a cost of $50 will be charged.

WEATHERRugby is a winter sport, both training and games are played in all weather conditions unless there is lightning present, or the grounds are closed by Councils. Your Team Manager will advise you if any cancellations are necessary.
